Flip Into Summer: Why Tumbling Classes Shouldn’t Take a Vacation!

Summer is almost here—school’s out, pool floats are in, and the kids are bouncing off the walls! While it might be tempting to take a break from structured activities, tumbling is one skill you don’t want your child to pause on over the summer.

Here are three big reasons why summer tumbling is a game-changer:

💥 1. Keep the Momentum Going

Tumbling is a skill built on repetition and consistency. When athletes take the summer off, it’s common to lose muscle memory and struggle to regain confidence with certain skills. Whether your child is learning cartwheels or mastering back handsprings, staying active during the summer months helps them:

  • Retain their hard-earned progress

  • Continue building strength and coordination

  • Start the fall season ahead of the game instead of catching up

Summer is the perfect time to level up!

🛑 2. Beat the “Summer Slump”

We’ve all heard of the “summer slide” with academics—but it happens in athletics, too. Without regular movement, kids can experience:

  • Reduced flexibility

  • Slower reflexes

  • Low energy levels

  • Increased screen time (and we know how that goes...)

Tumbling keeps kids physically strong, mentally focused, and excited about learning new things—even when school’s out.

☀️ 3. More Fun, Less Stress

With the school year behind them, summer gives kids more freedom to try new skills without pressure. Our summer tumbling classes are filled with high-fives and skill-building that feels more like play than work. Plus, it's a great way to beat the summer heat in our air-conditioned gym (parents, you're welcome 😎).
